I learned a lot about the value of social community through Snapchat in the mid-naughties. Looking back, I now see it was, not only a fun creative outlet, but also a wonderful lesson in caring for the people who engaged with me.
I don’t have the time I once did to dedicate to a my personal Snapchat handle. But, I’m still in touch with many of the folks I engaged with day-to-day. And, lessons learned there still surface in my day-to-day professional life as a social strategist.
In a perfect world, I’d still be cranking out stories, series and fun games there – and/or through TikTok and Instagram Reels… But there are only so many hours in a day…
So, for now, I’m going to enjoy the gratitude I feel for the experience. I know I’m richer for it.
