Since the release of iOS 8 earlier this week, tech reviews have been buzzing away.

A recent tip of the day from iPhone Life Magazine points out a new time-saving feature that comes with the update. You can set your messages to automatically delete after a set amount of time. I’m already calculating the hours of time this will save me.

If you’ve been holding on to your phone for a few years, be sure yours is newer than the iPhone 4S before you download the new iOS. According to the Financial Post, the older models can’t handle the new operating system.

If you’re not sure which model you have, just check the back of your phone for the model number and find it via this page from Apple Support to verify.
