I recently had the misfortune of having a broken garbage disposal, a clogged drain on one side of my (divided) sink and a flooded dishwasher all at the same time.

This lasted for days while I tried a few DIY solutions and finally opted for a call to my home warranty company.

After a glitch with one of the contractors, I was fuming that I would have to wait over the weekend before contractors could come to repair everything… and then my brother called.

After getting an earful of my home appliance angst, he said, “Just use paper plates and cups, and rinse things off on the patio with your hose.”

Eureka.

Sometimes a simple solution is just a phone call away, isn’t it?
